The Lore

CHRONICA SOLA

Chronica Sola is a mystical universe consisting of countless floating islands and boundless skies. Each island is host to different biomes, wildlife, and climates. Despite harsh environments and dangers on these islands, its inhabitants have adapted to the floating islands, giving birth to a wide variety of creatures, cultures, races, and religions, as well as their own unique way of traveling and interacting.

Among the unique creatures of Chronica Sola are the dragons, otherwise known as Wynds. These majestic and mythical beings play a crucial role for the inhabitants of the floating islands. The dragons are part of everyday life, playing a key role in transportation and even war.

HISTORY OF THE DRAGONS

Before they came to be known as Wynds, there were the Elder Draconis. According to ancient tomes gathered by Chronica Sola’s scholars, the Elder Draconis were present in the continent long before the Riders made it their home.

Tales told about the Elder Draconis knew them as fearsome, furious beasts that often laid waste to early settlements. However, the ingenuity of the Riders soon helped them find a way to tame the first generation of dragons.

These dragons then came to be known as the Arch Draconis. Although unequal in strength with the Elder Draconis, what they lacked, they made up for in zeal and in numbers when they helped islanders finally defeat the Elder Draconis. However, the victory came at a high price that brought the Arch Draconis to extinction, leaving only a lesser species known as the Wyrmnds.

Since then, the Wyrmnds have lived alongside the islanders as mounts to travel between islands, and during wartime between the nations of Chronica Sola. In war, they knew that these Wyrmds were the key to victory. However, they were surprised to find that some Wyrmnds showed similar strength to that of an Arch Draconis, and soon realized the potential left inside the DNA of the Wyrmnds.

WESTIA CONTINENT

The heart of Chronica Sola, Westia is one of the largest continents in the verse, separated by borders between Ysia, Perlia, and Vicima. Each nation represents its own faction, with its own strengths and weaknesses, resources, and economy. When these nations are not at war with one another, they trade on an island called Wyndrial, placed between the three nations where almost all trades take place.
